Instruct's aim is to make available to researchers the technologies and methodologies at 16 Instruct Centres around Europe and in Israel. A full range of advanced technologies is available for obtaining structural and dynamic information on systems in various dimensions, complexity and resolution.Access to all technologies benefits from expert support at the facility to ensure the best research outcome.
Do you have access to ALL the structural biology instrumentation you need for your research? If you are new to structural biology research, have you considered using Instruct-funded technologies in a new approach?
Proposals for funded access to the full set of Instruct facilities are now invited.
Access to Instruct infrastructure is available to all scientists working in laboratories of any of the Instruct member countries (presently BE, CZ, ES, FR, DE, IL, IT, NL, PT, SE, UK). Access is free and travel and consumables costs are funded by Instruct. Proposals will be evaluated rapidly on scientific merit and should outline an integrated programme of research that requires one or more Instruct technologies to achieve the aims of the project, and which are not ordinarily available in your own institution or through national facilities.
If you are not from an INSTRUCT member country (Finland is not a member), you can directly enquire with the listed facilities for access. Within Finland, access is currently agreed for both academic and industrial customers for those facilities in Biocenter Finland. Biocenter Finland facilities all have price lists available for Finnish access.
Instruct-FI Helsinki partners offer a range of structural biology platforms including X-ray crystallography, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), electron microscopy and cryo-EM, crystallization and membrane protein crystallization, proteomics and virus production and purification and protein production.
X-ray crystallography and Crystallisation services are offered through the Biocenter Finland Crystallisation Facility.
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) services are offered through the Institute of Biotechnology NMR Core Facility.
Proteomics services are offered through the Institute of Biotechnology proteomics unit.
Virus production and purification are offered through the Institute of Biotechnology ICVIR facility.
Protein Production services, relating to mammalian cell line expression.
